🌊 That year, we bent down together for the coast.
｜The first anniversary of beach cleaning｜
2025 9 month 20 day, Rotary Club of Yunlin Yunling walked to the coast of Yunlin together with his Rotary partners.
Someone picked up the tongs, and someone opened the garbage bag and took away pieces of garbage that did not belong to the coast. On that day, what we left behind were not just photos, but also a care for the environment in our hometown.
In a few days, it will be the first anniversary of this beach cleanup operation.
Looking back, we also began to think about a longer-term question:
After a service is over, can the changes remain?
When compiling the anniversary review this time, we also saw a Rotary case on the other side of the world.
In the Sundarbans in India, a mangrove restoration project aims to plant 100,000 mangrove trees to strengthen coastal resilience in communities home to 2,274 families. In an earlier pilot planting, the team reported a survival rate of nearly 70%.
What is even more worth learning is that this project is not just about planting saplings, but also integrating seedling cultivation, maintenance and the participation of local residents into the service design.
In other words——
Not just an event, but empowering the community to continue the change.
Beach cleanup in Yunlin and mangrove restoration in India have different methods and different environments; but what they want to protect behind the scenes is the same thing:
Make the land better and make the changes last longer.
On the eve of the first anniversary of the beach cleanup, thank you to every partner who sweated and contributed together, and thank you to every friend who continues to care about Yunling.
Departing from Yunlin Coast,
We can also see the world’s sustainable actions.
From one service,
Towards lasting change. 💙
Do you still remember the most impressive scene that day?
Feel free to leave a message and share your beach cleaning memories with us.
