YUNLING · CONNECT BEYOND BORDERS
Rotary: global action and fellowships
A shared interest. A wider world.
Rotary reaches beyond club meetings. Some networks help communities address a humanitarian challenge; others connect people through sailing, technology, cycling or travel. Both build relationships, but their starting points differ.
01 · TWO WAYS TO CONNECT
Two ways to connect
United by service
Rotary Action Groups connect people around humanitarian issues. They help clubs and districts develop projects, find partners, assess community needs and evaluate results. Membership does not automatically provide a grant.
Official resource ↗United by interests
Rotary Fellowships build international friendships through a shared hobby, interest or profession. An interest can also inspire service, but you do not need an existing service project to explore a fellowship.

Official resource →03 · INTERNATIONAL YACHTING FELLOWSHIP OF ROTARIANS
IYFR · An interest in boating, not boat ownership
The International Yachting Fellowship of Rotarians began in Great Britain in 1947 and is the oldest Rotary Fellowship. It is a fellowship, not an Action Group or an administrative unit of Rotary International.
Boat ownership is not required. The current IYFR website welcomes adult applicants meeting its reputation and conduct requirements. Confirm admission, activity suitability and fees with the relevant fleet.
Plastic Free Waters
Its Plastic Free Waters program also addresses plastic pollution in rivers, lakes and seas through awareness, waste reduction and cooperation.
04 · MAKE THE FIRST CONNECTION
How to take part
Choose a topic you genuinely care about and read the group’s official information.
Contact the group to confirm eligibility, language, membership and activity fees. Fellowship membership is not Rotary club membership.
Discuss any project in Yunling’s name or use of club funds with club officers first. This page does not process memberships or collect fees.
Questions, answered
Must I be a Rotary member?
RI welcomes interested people to Action Groups and Fellowships. Groups have their own admission processes; IYFR specifies adult applicants and conduct requirements.
Does joining guarantee a grant?
No. Advice and connections can support a project, but funding requires the relevant application and approval.
Must I own a boat for IYFR?
No. Fleet organizers still set the safety requirements, availability and fees for each activity.
Is this Rotary Friendship Exchange?
No. A fellowship is an ongoing interest or professional network; Friendship Exchange is a separate program.
Should I share my My Rotary password?
Use your own account and password. Register through My Rotary or use its password-recovery process. Club staff can help verify your membership and email without receiving your password.
