The World Annual Convention that Taiwan Rotarians have been waiting for for a long time has finally made its grand debut in Taipei!
Rotary Club of Yunlin Yunling was honored to participate in this historical event in the second year after its founding. Before the meeting, community members excitedly searched for various information and planned their visit routes, hoping to seize every wonderful moment and experience the charm of the World Annual Meeting in person.
When the lights came on during the opening ceremony and the sound of drums shook the audience, I was already filled with indescribable emotions. Watching Taiwan's culture leap onto the world stage, showing the beauty and enthusiasm of this land to Rotaract members from all over the world, I can't let go of my emotion for a long time.
And when the national flag slowly appeared in the center of the stage and the familiar melody of the national anthem sounded, my eyes became wet unconsciously. At that moment, my heart was filled with pride and gratitude. We are proud that we grew up in this beautiful land; we are grateful that because of Rotary, the world can see Taiwan.
At the Friendship House, community members from all over the world communicated enthusiastically, and we also successfully exchanged community flags with 上海虹橋扶輪社 and 昆山扶輪社. The exchange of community flags is not only a commemoration, but also represents the friendship and connection across national borders.
Taiwan is hosting the Rotary International Convention again after 32 years, bringing more than 30,000 Rotarians from over 140 countries together in Taipei. Rotary connects the world, and this gathering also gives Taiwan a chance to shine.
In the past few days, what I have seen is not just grand activities, but countless Rotarians working silently and sincerely in service. What I feel is not only joy and excitement, but also the warm power of "super-ego service".
As a Rotarian, it is such an honor to be able to personally participate in the World Annual Conference held in Taiwan; to be able to witness this historical moment with friends from all over the world is a memory that will be treasured for a lifetime.
