Second anniversary

PUBLIC PIANO · TAINAN STATION B1

Where is Tainan Station's public piano? A family memory becomes a shared experience

The public piano is on the B1 concourse of the new Tainan railway station. Wang Wen-chung's family donated it, and the Rotary Club of Tainan facilitated the project. Yunling shares an on-site video and explains the cooperation behind it.

Where is it, and who donated it?

Find the piano on the B1 concourse of Tainan's new railway station, not Tainan High Speed Rail Station. Follow station signs and staff directions. Availability, playing arrangements and crowd control depend on the station's current rules; keep passenger routes clear.

CNA and News111 identify the donors as the family of the late former Tainan police chief Wang Wen-chung. His widow, Yang Hsueh-lien, and family attended the ceremony. The upright piano had accompanied the family for years.

Making a gift work over time

The Rotary Club of Tainan coordinated the donation and placement, including maintenance resources. Yunling's own social post also credits the Rotary Club of Dajia with helping make the connection; that attribution does not establish an additional organizer or donor.

Our interpretation: donating an item is only a beginning. A suitable recipient, usable space, transport, tuning and ongoing responsibility help turn an available resource into a lasting public benefit.

Key dates

24 October 2026: the donation ceremony took place at Tainan Station. 25 October: CNA reported spontaneous performances and crowds; its report was updated on 26 October.

This explainer was published on 28 October 2026. Event dates, social publication dates and this page's editorial date are separate. The piano is not part of Yunling's December anniversary programme.

What was Yunling's role?

Yunling documented the scene, shared it on social media and explained its community value. We have no evidence that Yunling donated this piano or organized the donation ceremony. The video shows travellers connecting through music.

Have a piano or a community resource to offer?

Before proposing a donation, prepare the item's location, condition, dimensions and photographs, along with the people you hope to help. Discuss the recipient's actual needs, placement and maintenance responsibilities before making arrangements.

Use Yunling's official LINE to discuss a proposal with a person. There is no standing promise to collect pianos, provide free transport, guarantee a match or accept an item immediately. Avoid posting addresses or phone numbers publicly.
